在北京工作的林依然，因母亲患病，选择回乡后考公到桃花镇，在经发办任职。林依然看到以千年宣家为代表的传统宣纸产业艰难求存，为了拯救传统宣纸产业，她通过开发宣纸笔记本业务、去北京拉宣纸壁纸订单、操办文房四宝文化节等，努力帮助桃花镇宣纸产业走出经营困境，也完成了她对这方水土从陌生到了解、从责任再到热爱的成长历程。她也逐渐发现，一直钻研宣纸文创，看起来不务正业的宣纸匠人宣楌，其实和她一样，一直在为宣纸产业摸索一条新的可持续发展之路。于是林依然携手宣楌在宣纸文创的大道上拼搏奋斗，终于迎来了成功。
